+ Who owns Amber4 Designs?
Amber4 Designs is owned by Greg Hilton, with several other freelance designers.


+ What services can you provide?
The services we can provide are mainly internet, but not entirely. We can provide the following:
- Web Design
- Web Hosting
- Graphic Design (both internet and corporate identity related)
- Templates
- Site Content

+ Why should I hire a professional to design my website? Can't I do it myself?
Some people think that being able to make a website is an easy process for anyone. Ok...so you might learn how to put up a basic webpage with navigation and content. But, its the professionals who have spent years learning, experimenting, and creating websites in allsorts of different scenarios, for different people. Some people think that you couldn't possibly spend years learning "how to make websites" - but not even companies like Microsoft have the personel who know everything there is to know.
Professional help is the easiest and most beneficial way to get an imaginative, well built website on the internet for anyone or everyone to be able to view. But it is not just the image on the outside - a website also needs good functionality, to be able to cope with many visitors, and different types of internet browsers. Amber4 Designs has the professional potential to create the best.


+ Is it expensive to have a website?
The cost required for a website depends upon the amount of work needed to produce it. Amber4 Designs is specifically skilled to keep the costs as they should be, by deciding what is right for a website based on everything said by our clients. A website doesn't have to be expensive. For example, if we are provided with content ready to go with a website then we can get it completed and working on the world wide web in under 72 hours, which will be a huge financial benefit to our clients. Furthermore, by observing the market of other web design companies, Amber4 Designs is proud to suggest that we are amongst one of the best valued companies - our price quotes are incredibly low.


+ How long will it take?
Again, this is decided by how much work is needed. Anything provided initially (pictures, content) will enhance work rate, and lower costs. Whether given a deadline or not, we will work at our fastest whilst still producing our best.


+ Who owns the completed website?
Once finished, our clients will have 100% ownership of the websites created for them. However, usually, it is negotiated that a small disclaimer in the footer of the website gives Amber4 Designs recognition. Redistribution of the completed website is disallowed, but more of this is highlighted in the terms and conditions. Generally, the completed website belongs to our client.


+ What is a domain name, and why do I need one?
A domain name is the unique address of a website - the name that people type in to reach a particular site. For example, Amber4's domain name is http://www.amber4.com. You need a domain name so that your site can be publicly reached. The most common domain names are those that end in .com, .net, .org, or .co.uk. However there are over 50 more to choose from. If you would like more information on domain names then I suggest you visit a professional domain registrar. An ideal registrar is www.godaddy.com.


+ What is hosting, and why do I need it?
Hosting is the "storage" of your websites. It is the space on the internet of where all your pages, graphics and other components are stored. A website cannot exist on the internet unless it has a place of storage. A more technical term for a host is a server. Amber4 offers professional hosting for a variety of different needs. + What programming languages do you use?
Amber4 Designs uses many different coding languages to create websites. These include HTML, PHP, MySQL, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, Flash Actionscript and Javascript.


+ I already have a website. Are you able to re-build sites?
If your looking for a site re-design then we'd be more than happy to help out. We can re-design a website as much or as little as you like. Make sure to contact us for a more personal discussion, as we'll be able to give you free advice and help about re-designing sites.


+ Will I be able to maintain and update the site myself?
Once we have created your website, it will either be hosted by us or yourself. In both cases, you will be able to maintain and update your website.
If you decide to host with us then you will be given a control panel and other ways of access for easy editing/maintaining of your website.


+ If I already purchased a domain name, can you still make a website for it? Or do I have to purchase another?
Of course we can. Any existing domain names can be used for websites we create for you. No worries.


+ Is your hosting service reliable?
We guarenteed 99% uptime of your website if hosted with us, making us as reliable (if not more) than any other hosting service. Our hosting service is also maintained 24/7 too for ultimate stability. Any downtime or problems are recognised immediately and fixed accordingly. The latest updates and patches are also used to ensure data is both safe and reliable.


+ Where can I see examples of Amber4's previous work?
We would recommend you visit our portfolio page, which shows examples of both websites and graphics produced.


+ What payment methods do you accept?
We will happily accept cheques as payments for our services. We also accept payment via PayPal, and credit cards.


+ I live outside of the UK. Does this prevent me from using your services?
Not at all! Our service is primarily open to residents of the UK due to ease of contact, but residents elsewhere can just as easily use our services.
